I guess this would have been a good thing to do before I sent out my Christmas cards and had people check our blog for an update. Ooops. (There are lots of links throughout the update to old posts!)
Andrew and I are currently living in Bellingham, WA where we are both attending Western Washington University. Andrew is in the Music Education program, working to receive his Music and Math Teaching Endorsements. He currently is playing in 3 groups, The Jazz Band, Wind Symphony, and Western Brass. Andrew is working at Clark's Feed and Seed, a fish store in downtown Bellingham. This is a perfect job for him as fish tanks have become his new obsession. In the past year he bought me a 10 gallon freshwater tank for my birthday, has a 2 1/2 gallon freshwater tank set up for him, and is in the process of setting a 10 gallon saltwater tank that was purchased with birthday money. Andrew still skateboards and snowboards but last year he also started teleskiing and decided it is the new thing to do. I think both of our fathers find it quite amusing that he now loves to ski.
I am in the Master's in Special Education Program at Western and am working to receive my teaching endorsements in Elementary Education and Special Education. I just found out that I have been selected to be a Graduate Assistant in the Special Education Department for the next three quarters. I am really excited for the experience and to be more involved in the department (and for the monthly stipend and tuition waver!) I am currently working as "Life Skills Specialist" for an adult woman with Autism and Down Syndrome. Basically this means that we spend our days playing and learning together, I love it! I stay busy scrapbooking, reading, and updating our blog. If you want to get an email every time that we update, let me know and I will add you to the mailing list. Next year I am starting a new blog detailing my big New Year's Resolution, wish me luck!
This past year has been busy for us with moving to a new apartment, a trip to the south, a vacation at Priest Lake, a little bit of hiking, seeing lots of family at Thanksgiving, cutting our own Christmas tree for the first time, school, work, fish, and our cats, John and Paul (who think that they own the house because we are gone so much). We are busy enjoying life and we hope you are too! Leave us a comment or send us an email, we would love hearing news from everyone else!
