Can I just tell you that I love teaching? I have days where there are aspects of the job that get me down, but it is almost never the kids. They make me laugh and teach me something everyday.
Funny story from Friday:
Scene: Me working at my desk. Very kind, patient para-educator telling his group that he will be gone for a few days and I will be covering for him.
Student: Cheering. Literal cheering, jumping out of seat, and fist pumping.
Para: Thanks. That makes me feel very good about all of the work that we have been doing together.
Student: Don't worry. I am acting excited on the outside but on the inside I'm crying because I will miss you so much. And we all know that it's what's on the inside that counts.
Scene: Me laughing from my desk.
Follow up to this, and why I am thinking of it right now:
Today that student asked me to help him write that para a note to surprise him when he gets back. It's what's on the inside that counts right?
