Blackberry Nectarine Jam

Another delicious jam! I am loving all of the creative jam recipes we have been trying out! I thought that I could never be swayed from freezer jam, but some of these mixed fruit jams are just perfect. This jam is made from the blackberries in our yard and the nectarines we purchased from Eastern Washington.  It's not the thickest set, but it tastes delicious and is easy to make!
Blackberry Nectarine Jam
Makes approximately 10 half pints

4 cups Nectarines, Chopped
4 cups Blackberries, Crushed
4 ½ cups Sugar
2 tsp Lemon Juice
2 pkts Pectin, powdered

In a large pot combine peaches, blackberries and lemon juice. Bring the mixture to a simmer and add the pectin. Let the mixture reach a boil, stirring frequently to prevent burning, and then add the sugar.

Bring mixture back to a hard boil that can’t be stirred down and boil for 5 minutes.  Fill clean, sterilized jars with the hot jam, wipe rims, and apply lids and rings. Process in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes.

Easy right?  If you want to buy a jar, we are selling the 8 oz jars for $4 and the 12 oz jars for $6.
