Dinner time is quite the event around here. Scout takes about 45 minutes to eat her nightly course of solids. And she loves it. Mostly because Mom lets her feed herself, which is always exciting. We recently introduced yogurt, it might just be her new favorite. She gets excited when she sees you plop a spoonful on her tray and an intense look of concentration covers her face as she scoops it up in both hands and smooshes it in her mouth. She loves picking up little pieces of pear, banana, peas, green beans, avocado, little rice puffs, and teething cookies. If you want to hear her giggle, all you have to do is give her a spoon to hold on to and chew on. After she's all done slapping the tray and thoroughly exploring the different food textures, her and her highchair go right to the shower to get ready for bed. Although sometimes we give her a little treat and let her play with the washcloth first. Seriously. I think our baby is the only one I know who giggles and gets excited when she sees you coming with the washcloth. Don't you wish all your meal times where this fun?
