I Love You

I butcher song lyrics.  Terribly.  I merge songs and verses together, usually messing up the tune too.  I vaguely remembered this song from my Primary days at church, and started singing it to Scout a couple of years ago.  The words should be :
1. I know you, and you know me.
We are as diff'rent as the sun and the sea.
I know you, and you know me,
And that's the way it is supposed to be.

2. I help you, and you help me.
We learn from problems, and we're starting to see.
I help you, and you help me,
And that's the way it is supposed to be.

3. I love you, and you love me.
We reach together for the best we can be.
I love you, and you love me,
And that's the way it is supposed to be.

But I've abbreviated it into one, most important verse:
I love you and you love me
We are as different as the sun and the sea
I love you and you love me
And that's the way it is supposed to be

It's become one of her favorites and she requests it regularly at bedtime.  She's started singing it to us, and Elena, on occasion.  When we were talking about what we could give Andrew for Father's Day, things that we could do for him that he likes, she remembered that he likes it when she sings.  So I suggested that she sing for him and I record it so he could have it "for always".  Here is her recording, it's adorable:
(Scout's words:  I love you and you love me and that's the way its supposed to be and the sun and the sea.)
